Supermarket

My son's antics are always the highlight of my day. I came home yesterday to him all sweaty from his exertions with his bicycle.

After a four-day weekend, we prepared Koy's things for his school activities. I bought him a shopping cart since their topic for the week is "The Supermarket". We also have play money that I placed inside a wallet, supermarket fliers, beans, toy vegetables, empty cereal and milk boxes, etc.

As I was assembling his shopping cart, I told Koy that all these are found in a supermarket.

"Supermarket!" he said with a lot of gusto.

Koy kept on repeating the word. I only got what he was trying to say when he leapt on top of the couch and raised a fist over his head and jumped over the sofa.

Supermarket is not a superhero.

Co-dependency At Its Best

Do you know what I need? I need you. And do you know what you need? Me.

So What?

Wow! No blog entries for the longest time.

***********

We were going through pronunciation drills today. We usually do it in pairs to make sure the trainees make the distinction between these sounds. One of the pairs that we do is the vowel sound in the word SO and the vowel sound in the word SAW.

"Now the vowel sound in the word SO, such as when you say, 'So what?', is the same as when you say SEW, as in a needle pulling thread," I pointed out while writing the words on the board.

Everyone mouthed SO.

"Now the word SOW as in the pig is pronounced differently. However, when you say SOW as in plant seeds, you say it the same way as SO and SEW," I explained further.

Then I saw that some of my trainees had puzzled looks on their faces. So I went through the SOW part again and emphasized on the SOW verb.

"SOW, like when you say, 'What you sow is...'" I trailed off.

"What you get!" Rene declared.

Take me out of the dark, my Lord. I don't want to be there.
